We pioneered the first auto-tensioner in 1979, and have sold over 350 million units since then. Litens holds the largest share of the auto tensioner market producing over 20 million units annually.

Litens holds over 40 patents in the field. We invented the first auto tensioner, the first effective alternator decoupler and the first mechanical crankshaft decoupler. We also pioneered the science of belt systems, the first analytical methods and the first effective system test methodologies.
