What you will do:

Apply engineering science and mathematical principles to develop math models, optimization through simulation, to explain and evaluate mechanical systems for functional variability and durability.

Apply broad engineering expertise and expert knowledge to evaluate complex sub-systems, define appropriate actions and communicate clear, actionable insights and recommendations.

As a Technical Expert, Engineering – Mechanical Systems, you will support and advise Management and cross functional project teams on advanced technical matters.

Guide, advise and mentor other engineers on technical matters.

Evaluate technical feasibility of new product concepts; investigate and evaluate new technologies using principles of applied science/physics.

Apply exceptional knowledge of fundamentals and first principles to quickly explore, learn and teach new subject areas of priority interest.

Provide highest level technical direction/problem solving on complex and advanced engineering matters within assigned areas.

Create technical standards and engage in strategic technical discussions with key cross functional team members and customers.

Remain current on state-of-the-art technological developments in industry and provide strategic input to management.

Preparation and review of patent applications.

Represent Litens Product Engineering within the industry and academic community.  This may include authoring technical papers, presenting/participating at conferences and supporting Customer, University and supplier engagement as a technical authority.

 

What you will bring:

Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Engineering/Applied Science or acceptable equivalent.

10 years of relevant automotive industry experience or acceptable equivalent.

Proven track record as a Sr. Development Engineer, Sr. Technical Specialist or Innovation Leader or acceptable equivalent, with demonstrated broad knowledge and capability.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills and demonstrated ability to apply first principles to evaluate complex sub-systems.

Good understanding of the following areas: vibration and resonance, fatigue, wear, damping, principles of reliability, bearings, clutches, tribology, materials engineering.

Knowledge of automotive/ hybrid engines.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical matters and communicate clear, practical, actionable insights and recommendations that are appropriate for a high-volume production environment.

Demonstrated track record of advanced knowledge/capabilities and ability to work independently within a broadly defined mandate to achieve goals.

Experience in mathematical modeling and simulation of complex mechanical systems (MATLAB, Python).

Great communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
