Toronto Metropolitan Formula Racing unveils the TM-23 racecar

Litens Canada partnered with Toronto Metropolitan University to sponsor their Formula SAE Racecar for the 2022/2023 season (TM-23). The team officially unveiled the vehicle on May 21, 2023.

As a top sponsor of the team, Litens provided the team with monetary support to build the battery, in-kind sponsorship for the battery testing, guided the team in evaluating the requirements of the vehicle’s cooling and electrical systems and helped on the overall development process. We also provided the team access to our specialized equipment and testing facilities, which will help them prototype and test the battery pack.

Litens is very pleased with the students’ hard work and proud of the efforts they have put in to build the vehicle. This project aligns with our goals to promote and develop sustainable and electrification technologies.

“Litens has played a prominent role in helping our team achieve its goals of developing a simple design that passes our competitions’ technical inspections. They’ve provided industry level guidance and the opportunity to borrow their testing equipment to test our motor and motor controller. We were able to spin our motor with our battery pack and control the motors speed for the first time with Litens’ support since the team transitioned to electric in 2020. Thank you again to Litens for their continuous support over the 2022/2023 season!”-Claudia Bialkowski, Battery Pack Lead

The team will now create a new vehicle for the upcoming 2023/2024 season and prepare for the FASE Michigan competition in 2024.

We would like to wish the best of luck to the TMFR team for next year’s competition.
